Create

I had the privilege of photographing the Create Conference 2012.  Create is a creative communications conference for Canadian church leaders and volunteers. It's purpose is to inspire, encourage and equip those with creative roles within ministry,  the focus being on creative communications: arts, design, video, social web and leadership.  I found it very inspiring,  being in a room filled with 200+ creatives all seeking to learn, grow and inspire each other.

Gary Molander - the author of “Pursuing Christ. Creating Art.“,and the co-owner of Floodgate Productions, and Floodgate Creative.

Esther Havens is a Humanitarian Photographer who works with organizations such as charity: water, TOMS Shoes, Warby Parker and Concern Worldwide. http://www.estherhavens.com

Tommy Woodard and Eddie James are The Skit Guys.  They’ve been teaching God’s word using comedy, drama and whatever category talking action figures fit into for over twenty years.

Laura and Jake are Married!
Scott and I had the privilege of meeting Jake a few years ago, when he came up from Windsor with my brother for a visit. We connected then (talking about film work and photography),  so it was easy to reconnect again on their wedding day. Jake and Laura were married at Campbell Baptist Church, and their reception was held at the St Clair Centre For The Arts.  It was a gorgeous modern space, that over looked the Detroit Skyline.
These two fit together just right.  Laura is sweet and gentle,  and Jake is sweet and gentle with her. Laura is the perfect height for Jake to kiss on the forehead (my favourite kind of kiss to capture).
It was truly an honour to share the day with these two.

Brad and Laura are Engaged!

Meet Laura and Brad.  These two are meant to be-  they compliment each other in every way imaginable.  They are both incredibly smart and have such awesome jobs. He's a bird watcher (there's a more professional title I'm sure-  but I've forgot what it is) and she's a midwife.  We did part of their e-session in Niagara on the Lake at a little park by the water- Brad spent more time looking at all the different birds, than my lens but we ended up with some great shots!

Roy and Deb are having a baby!

A family of two... about to become three!  I feel so blessed to have been able to capture this exciting time in Roy and Deb's life.  They are two of the most fun-loving and sincere people you'd ever meet- and I'm lucky enough to call them friends. Looking forward to meeting their little one soon!

Little Dominic and Family

Let me introduce you to the little man who has stolen my heart.  This is Dominic,  my nephew and my husbands God son. This past weekend we were blessed to spend some time with him and his mom and dad and capture a few photos in our backyard.  Isn't he just the sweetest!?

Little Ruby has Arrived!

I am so excited to share a few photos from little Ruby's first photo session.  This little gem is Daryl and Alaina's first child (see previous post of the "bump").   Daryl is one of the first of my childhood friends to have a baby,  and it was a pleasure to capture Ruby on her 8th day.

Daryl and Alaina are Expecting

Daryl and Alaina are an amazing couple, who happen to be good friends.  They're expecting their first baby in a few weeks time,  and I was so honoured when they asked me to take a few photos of Alaina's growing belly.  Here are just a few of the black and white photographs I took.

Alissa and David are Married!

Alissa and David were married at the Beamer Falls Manor in Grimsby on a perfect late summer day.  Kate and I had a wonderful morning wandering the Manors property capturing many of Alissa and Davids creative and personal details. The ceremony was an intimate affair,  the couple choosing to say their vows in front of those closest to them,  including their dog "Meatball".  The reception was held inside the manor - and was laid back but entirely elegant.  Congrats Alissa and David.

Kelly and Davey are Married

I have to say, Kelly and Davey are probably the two most easy going, fun-loving and sweet people I've ever had the pleasure of photographing. Honestly! Our entire day was spent at Knollwood Golf Club in Ancaster.  From getting ready in the Inn on the property, to the ceremony on the lawn, and finally the reception in the New Course Club House-  it was great to stay put. Kelly and Davey, thank you for making my job so much fun, and making it easy too! I look forward to capturing many more milestones in your lives!

Jon and Jordan- Love the Dress

We were so honoured to capture Jon and Jordan's wedding back in May, and I was so excited when they asked me to do a "Love the Dress" session with them recently. We went to their friends farm,  as well as Albian Falls in Hamilton.  Jon and Jordan have been a couple of our closest friends for years,  so working with them is really easy and fun.  LOVE you guys!!

Cheryl and Howie are Married

I love vintage anything,  and I was so excited when Cheryl and Howie shared their ideas for a country vintage wedding.  I knew this would be my chance to try something new when it came to editing, and am really pleased with the final outcome of their photos.  Here is a small sampling of moments from their day.  Enjoy!

Marisa and Shane are Married

Rain after the drought. Finally a new blog update. Marisa and Shane had their fun and romantic wedding and reception at Carmens Banquet Centre in Hamilton.  Even though it poured rain,  we had so much fun finding creative ways to use any covered area at Dundurn Castle.  Honestly,  have you ever seen a more gorgeous couple?  Beyond that they were so easy going and didn't let the rain dampen their day.

Adam and Melissa are Married

Melissa and I go way back--  I mean WAY back. She has been friends with my sister Allyson since they were just wee tots.  It was a neat experience to shoot a wedding that my little sister was a part of and that my parents attended.  It was like a family affair.  Melissa went off to school in Waterloo,  where the couple met, were married, and now live.   Their eclectic wedding was set at a park over looking the river in Waterloo. The setting was beautiful!  Melissa's dress was unlike any I had ever seen before… and it was SO her.   Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Melissa asked many friends and family to bring a cake to the reception to serve as centre pieces.  This was such a fun wedding to shoot,  not only because I was able to reconnect with old friends,  and spent the day with my family,  but because you could see the intense love that has only begun to unfold between Adam and Melissa.

Jenn and Josh are Engaged!

*easy peezy lemon sqeezy*
This describes Josh and Jenn's fabulous e-session. These two were so photogenic. It was like they'd done this a million times. Not only were J & J fun to be around, they were up for anything (including sneaking onto a lawn bowling field).
Scott was totally in his element. Thriving in late evening sun, he knows how to capture it's amazing golden glow. I love learning from him.
Choosing photos for the blog was no easy task as there were SO many to pick from. Here are a few of our favorites. ENJOY!

Mark and Joanne are Engaged

On a beautiful friday evening,  Scott and I ventured out to Binbrook conservation area to shoot Mark and Joanne's e-session.  What a romantic couple.  They were constantly whispering into each others ears and sharing kisses when the cameras weren't even pointed in their direction.  We could tell that they loved just being together.

Charlie and Roselyn are Married

This past weekend, Scott and I had the pleasure of capturing Roselyn and Charlie's wedding day. It was a day full of "firsts" for us. From our first encounter with Chinese door games, to our first downtown Toronto location shoot. We saw, tasted and smelt our first 10 course tradition Chinese meal (yum!) and wrote our congratulations onto a black rock with a silver felt pen. So, here's to Roselyn and Charlie and what will be many "firsts" for them!
